YES, WHY NOT?

This work consists of six pieces that deal with architecture, sculpture, painting, jewelery and art in general as one UNIFYING CONCEPT. They are constructed implying a sanse of CONTRADICTION and duality that resides in the world around us and also within ourselves. The pieces shouldn’t fit, but they do. They shouldn’t be together, but they are. Like life, this work is a contradiction. We are all diferent and special. In each of us there are traits that caracterize us and make us unique. On the other hand we have many things in common, we all have dreams that may seem impossible. These small ironies in life are a reflection of the MULTIPLICITY that resides in us. In this project I have taken the liberty to play with these concepts in order to convey, through each piece, that life is a contradiccion and that in all of us is a little BIPOLAR.
YES, WHY NOT? I want to play with you, worry you,  cause you to question what gives you joy, surprise or disappointment. I want to confuse you and incite you to explore with me the balance of forms. I invite you to feel the power of the colours, volume and weight and see the ergonomics as clearly as I, as they travelled through my hands.
I am interested in textures generated from signs and the unique footprint and impurities that the coffee powder coating leaves behind. The way it touches the different surfaces. I am especially inspired by the simplicity of pure colour and multiple contrasting shapes and how they come together to intrigue the eye.

Materials: Silver 925, Samba wood, epoxy resin, lead, coating (coffee powder, white glue, latex and rutile titanium dioxide pigment) and synthetic paint.
